TEXAS SHEET CAKE
2 Sticks (1 Cup) butter 2 Cups flour
4 Tablespoons cocoa 2 Cups sugar
1 Cup water 1 Teaspoon baking soda
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup sour cream
2 Slightly beaten eggs
1 Teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter and combine with cocoa and water and bring to boil. In a
separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, soda and salt. Pour hot liguid over
dry ingredients and blend. Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla to mixture
and blend. Pour into 13" X 19" flat pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20
to 25 minutes. While cake is baking, prepare frosting.
FROSTING
1 Stick (1/2 Cup) butter
6 Tablespoons sour cream
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Box confectioner's sugar
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1 Cup chopped walnuts
Melt butter. Add sour cream and cocoa. Bring to boil and pour over
confectioner's sugar. Blend and add vanilla and nuts. Frost cake right
out of the oven while still hot.
